Hey Guys iam addicted to roulette in the bookies, iam so ashamed for the past 6 months all my wages are gone by the 2nd day of the month, iam ashamed, i dont want to tell anyone, iam thinking could i over come this on my own? iam going to my first GA metting on thursday, what do you think.

I think you have just made the best decision of your life. Do not go along to meetings thinking there is a magic cure, but if you go with an open mind and listen you will hear the stories of recovery from other members. All are at different stages in their recovery and all are different. I have been attending meetings for quite a time now and in that time have seen some people come into the room absolutely in despair and gutted and then never see them again! I feel sorry for these people as their suffering will go on and sometimes they may never come back. I consider myself fortunate and thankful for the GA program as I was down on my knees and thought I was hopeless! Give it your best shot and stick with it.

I think that anything is possible if you live "day by day" and dont gamble....

You will need support outside the group and this will happen when you realise how big an issue that you have.
