Tomso

Smartie,
I, personally, don't think non-gamblers can ever understand what we become when in the grip of this addiction. I too, like everyone else, made promise after promise to myself only to let myself down day after day and then suddenly one day it stopped. I had had enough. I believe I was extremely lucky to find this site and in particular one of your posts. Your share had a big impact on me and today is my 90th day without having set foot in the bookies. You are a tremendous asset to G.A. Your ability to offer understanding and good advice is uncanny. In my opinion, although probably controversial, most first-time users of this site don't want a short reply telling them to go to a meeting. They are petrified of the future and want something immediate, something that will stop them repeating today's mistakes tomorrow. A while ago I was this person and your advice set me on my way to recovery which I enjoy one day at a time.

Forever Grateful
Tomso.
