EXCESSIVE SPENDING - CHEWISON - 23-06-2011
I need help with an addiction which is ruining my life. The problem is I do not have to spend money for the sake of it but I find it difficult to stop myself. Buying lottery tickets, bookies, roulette I have the compulsion to want to win money all the time and all it is doing is making me get into debt Iwant to stop but it is so difficult

Hi Chewison
Many people come to their first GA meeting hoping that we can show them a way to control their gambling. After years of listening to the stories I have come to the conclusion that for the compulsive gambler who wants to get well then total abstinance is the only way.
If you stop gambling on everything then things will not get any worse. I used to think that gambling was a solution to my problems but since going to GA I have learned that gambling was causing my problems.
