THE NEW YEAR - BDT - 29-12-2011
Hi to one and all
There's been a lot of shares posted and thereapies at our meetings saying how people dislike this time of year. I can understand this especially for the newer guys as just because someone stops gambling doesn't mean that life becomes wonderful at all but certainly not immediately. Stopping gambling means things do not get worse however because one is not betting it sometimes seems like it because we can't lose ourselves in the dreamworld. Before GA I believed that gambling was the solution to all of my problems rather than the cause.
To those having a tough time I say stick with it because with GA and the 12 step program you can get through this period and come out eventually realising that it was worth the pain and anguish. Recovery is not just a series of highs it is about dealing with reality in the best possible way.
THE PROBLEMS OF YESTERDAY HAVE PRODUCED THE BLESSINGS OF TODAY
