Hi, I dont know the answer to your question about self banning forms but I too would like to know where these forms could be obtained because I want to go into the gambling establishments I use and self ban but its really embarrasing and havnt yet found the guts to do it. So if there is such a thing as a self banning form that I could just fill in and post off that would make life much easier and in more ways than one... Firstly I know I wouldnt attempt to go in the places because it would be to embaressing to be turned away and secondly I would still have the money in my pocket that I would of spent had I gained access

Theres one thing I have decided that helps me and thats its harder to stop gambling than it is to gamble and I I getter a bigger buzz out of the fact that I have gone 1 day (ok not long but its hopfully the first of many) without gambling!
I was gambling everyday at bingo, bandits and on line and I have done so for the past 27 years. Well if im lucky I will have another 27 to be a non gambler and enjoy the buzz of life its self.

Thanks for reading and I hope these forms are accessable.

The forms are behind the counter and you need a photo too to attach so the shop knows to ban you if you go in!
I got the courage up on |tuesday to do it but did not have a photo and they would not let me take the form>
good news tho is that they ban from all of that chain in the area.

Hi, depands were you want to self ban from, I have self banned from the casino's and it's just a case of filling in a form and handing it in (did not need a pic), I don't think that they will let you post it tho. Some casino's have the forms on dispaly and some you have to ask for one. Some ask for a reason i just told them i was a compulsive gambler and that stops them asking any more hope this helps

Dear All,
Usually in Casino's they take a picture of you so to self ban is just tell them you would like exclusion. This involves going to the counter and saying straight up "please can I bar myself as i am a compulsive gambler". Most other establishments that dont have a picture on your file ie arcades/bookies require a form with picture, this is a simple 5mins to complete and its amazing how good you feel knowing you just barred yourself. Word of warning some bans last 6months, I had to permanently bar myself from one at a future date. This works if the staff remember you. Most quiet gambling places (privately run) although they should (requirement by law) provide self exclusion forms often they do not. Best thing for them is a compulsive gamber doing his proverbials weekly!!!. Although self exclusion is a good way to do this joining a programme that involves giving over control of cash is a much better way to abstain as that self exclusion form will not be distributed around a "chain" whereas in casinos one bar is good for all. Remember self exclusion is not an answer to our problems as when gambling we will find other alternative venues to gamble....but self exclusion is a good way to work, just like barring on websites etc...

are they by law have to ban you if you go in, or if they see you in or can they turn a blind eye?

im cal and im a compulsive gambler no gambling to report.

The question about embarrassment from self banning. I'm sure you embarrassed yourself plenty on times whilst you were gambling in these establishments the same as i did, so eat the humble pie and do it. I even found the woman who repeatedly hinted at me having a problem actually said well done, i'm happy for you.

Self exclusion may not stop you gambling, however, any barrier is a barrier towards you making that first bet.
