I went to my first meeting this week also. I agree it allowed me to see the way forward also and made me realise it is something i should have done years ago instead of kidding myself that it is somthing that i could deal with myself. I am looking forward to my nxt weeks meeting and will definately be attending.

Hi Red
Great to hear that you made it back to the meetings. And I agree with Big Dave, it does take a lot of guts to get back to a GA meeting having relapsed. However, those compulsive gamblers who have been a long time in the Fellowship without having slipped are few and far between. It's a baffling and insidious addiction. Moreover, there is no first amongst equals in GA. We are all addicts and never safe. All I keep doing, after having been off for a long time is to keep putting the bet off for another day. It seems to work. I think that seems to be the key: keep it in the day. I can do something for 12 hours that would appal me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime. So, I hope that you can get to the next meeting as soon as possible and put off the bet for another day.
Regards
Matthew
