killing me slowly
#1
three days ago, it's my payday and it's all gone because of my gambling addiction, this is deja vu for five months now. the problems are house rent is way past due, electric and gas bills, council tax, money for provisions, insurance for the car, money to pay off debts - all gone. i have two wonderful sons and a very understanding wife who has bailed me out God knows how many times. i wanted to close my eyes and sleep for 28 days and wake up to have money to sort things out, because everyday it is killing me slowly. any advice thanks.

Hi tonteni2002

" killing me slowly " ..... Great title for your post. That is exactly what gambling can do to you.
It sucks the life out of you.

Welcome to the forum. You are obviously here because you know, & have admitted to yourself that you have a problem. That is a great start.

I swear by my GA meetings. Without GA I would definitely be 6 foot under by now, as when I hit my "rock bottom", before seeking help, I attempted suicide.

Whilst this forum can give you valuable support, nothing can beat a GA meeting. Have a look for your nearest meeting and go along as soon as you can.

This addiction can be stopped. The ball however, is in your court. You have to be very honest with yourself. Do you want to stop?...Really?
Think about all the new year resolutions that people make. They really don't intend to carry through with those resolutions. That is the main reason why they fail.
You can beat this, but it will involve effort on your part. there is no magical cure.

Best wishes
Roy
