Roullette Mess
#1
Hi Everyone who reads this,

I just want to share my story and admit that I ahve a problem with gambling.

It started when I was probably 16 - 17. I went into a bookies with a friend and won a few pounds playing roullette. I was instantly hooked. I am now 23 and have lost too much money to remember. I have had good wins and even then it wasnt enough. I feel as though I have lost myself over the past few years, my mind has been sucked away by the circling of the roullette wheel. It has taken me six years to realise that whether the FOBT's are fixed or random it doesn't matter, the odds are against you anyway and if you are a compulsive gambler like me you will go back and lose your winnings and more at some stage. I now haven't gambled for one week and already feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I am normally a sensible person in everything I do and I guess people who haven't experienced the hold gambling can have over you don't really understand how it feels. I found some quotes today which I found funny, so hopefully to cheer some people up here they are:

1) Gambling: The sure way of getting nothing from something. ~Wilson Mizner
2) The safest way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket. ~Kin Hubbard
3) There is a very easy way to return from a casino with a small fortune: go there with a large one. ~Jack Yelton
and finally my favourite 4) By gaming we lose both our time and treasure - two things most precious to the life of man. ~Owen Felltham

Thanks for reading. Wish everyone trying to quit a gambling free and happy life.

John
