A Hard Week That Got Better
#1
Hi, My week as some of you know started off terrible with all sorts of reason contributing. The main reason was being worried about starting work again, and having to deal with money everyday. My first day back was on tuesday and after roughly 45min of talking to myself driving...one shoulder telling me just a little bet would'nt hurt, and the other one saying NO don't do it.I decided not to have the bet, though i thought through the day about it i kept strong and kept out the bookies, even my work collegue took my money of me as i went to fetch my van so i couldnt stop off anywhere ! Who needs a barrier with a freind like that i feel myself so lucky to have suport of work coleges as i dont know them that well. After getting passed that 1st day the next two i worked i fount very easy kept myself busy without a thought of the dreaded bet. Now my big challenge is to go back to my meeting on sunday, and for some strange reason im rather nervous which doesnt make sence as i attended for 6 mnths befor ! im afraid ppl will judge me for not attending which is daft as i know nobody judges in GA just offer awsome advice and help.

Any way thats my little rant over , just wanted to get it off my chest.

Thankyou to all in the room ur all a great surport

Just 1 more thing reading back.......suport of mates is excelent if you can have it, but we all need the barriers in place to prevent us at our most vunrable and week times.

HELLO EVERYONE,

Thankyou dave for the words and advice appreciate them. I went back to my meeting after nearly 4 months away last night, and all the fuss was about nothing, they were all pleased to see me and even got a welcome back hug ! Amazing to see the meeting has doubled in size, alot of new ppl, the regualrs were still there, but a shame sum of the old faces wasnt, who knows what has happened to them

THE IMPORTANCE OF ATTENDING MEETINGS

One of the topics brought up last night was "i carnt be botherd to come its a hassle to my routine" for exsample if u were having a bbq or their was a footy match on tv ect ect. Many excuses i have used over the 6months i was attending regually, i didnt come man u was on tv, i didnt come i had a bbq. One person at out meet has MS sum weeks he can bearly walk and is very tired, his wife told him not go go last night because he wasnt well but he still came. I commented afterwards and appluded him for coming for some one who has a valid reason not to go (not a excuse) should give everyone in the room insperation, and i was the first to addmit my excuses over the last 10 mnths since starting GA were pretty LAME really.
I took alot out of last night meeting and offerd a bit of advice to, to the new members, i left with the buzz of knolege and satisfaction that i went, Nobody really knows why a CG gambles ,Nobody really knows why the meetings work, they just do, this is the importance of attending them, be it 1 day or a thousand days of the bet u can never take in less good advice and that is what is important to all our recovery.

MEETINGS MAKE IT !

thanks for reading and again ty for all ur suport in the chat room.
