DO NOT WISH CHAT ROOM TO BE CLOSED
#1
Hi All
Regarding the last post i made on the forum, i do not wish to see the chat room closed. I wrote that post in the heat of the moment when my emotions were running high. Most, if not everyone i have met in there have helped me, and the ignore button is a great way of not being able to see what people are saying if you don't get on. I have made peace with everyone and i truly believe 99.9% of the people using chat, do so to give and receive support, as i do. It is an asset and allows people to get help and advice twenty four hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days a year. Thanks to all of you who commented on my last post.... And Mav. If you are reading this please come back to the chat room! You were so supportive when i first logged in, as were so many others.
All the best

I think I can safely say that the chat room will not not be closed just because one member 'threw their toys out of the pram'.

It might be worth taking a step back and remembering what the forum and chat room are here for in the first place. I for one try my best to treat them in the same way as I do a GA meeting, where of course, I must be on my very best behaviour.

i'd echo Dave's thoughts and just add that I try to remind myself the chat room was originally set up to help new members get to meetings where the support of the GA recovery program can best be given...

For me there is nothing better than Step 12 - carrying the message of hope to other compulsive gamblers...

Wishing you all the best...in unity
