Hello.

It is a real shame that you have broken out. Get yourself straight back to a GA meeting. But, don't think that just by attending meetings, you are gonna be safe. Recovery from this requires "diligent effort", you get out what you put in.

In my first year in GA I put very little effort in, I attended one meeting a week and expected to be ok. It was no coincidence that I struggled. Although I did not gamble (which was a miracle) I did not take on board the knowledge being shared with me or adhere to the guidance being offered. It was when I did that my recovery started.

I had to learn to leave my ego at the door because it was getting in the way. I had to understand that I was not unique and in any way different to any other member in the room. All the guidance offered was for my benefit too and I had to get rid of my 'selective hearing'.
